| 内容記述 | As universities and colleges around the world seek viable alternatives to currently suspended study abroad programs due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the question of how to provide students with the opportunity to engage with their peers abroad in language and cultural exchange becomes increasingly one for which institutes need to provide answers. As students become more and more competent and confident in using the technological platforms available to substitute for in-person contact during their time at university, online program may increasing play a role in developing linguistic competence and cross-cultural understanding. This paper will describe the steps taken by two educators in East Asian universities to try to establish an online cultural exchange program, and will outline the setbacks and challenges encountered along the way. When moving forward with such programs, potential solutions to the problems the challenges posed will also be outlined. | |||||||||||||||||
